The three-day-long GIS Theory and Methodology Seminar of CAGIS (Beijing 2004)
was grandly held from Oct. 17 to Oct. 19 2004 in the International Exchange
Center of China University of Mining And Technology (Beijing). Mr. Jason Ni,
General Manager of Canada Apollo Technology Group Beijing Office and Beijing Oriental TITAN Technology Co., LTD, together with his
marketing and sales personnel took part in this seminar. The General Manager¨s
lecture, entitled with Brief Introduction to TITAN Series begot warm applause
and positive echo from the representatives of the seminar.
This seminar is hosted by Theory and Methodology Professional Commission of
CAGIS (China Association for Geographic Information System), and undertaken by
3S and Sink Engineering Institute of China University of Mining And Technology.
Shepherds and experts from the well-known universities and institutes
nation-wide participated in the seminar. The subject of this seminar is spatial
data model and spatial data. The goal is to carry out thorough study and
research in respect of certain GIS theories and methodologies, in a hope to
promote the development and research of china¨s GIS theory and methodology and
to provide an open and free forum for the scholars and doctors, who are
interested in GIS Theory and methodology.
APOLLO Beijing Office and OTITAN, as the unique patronage company, gained much focus of attention.
Its self-copyright software, TITAN series, was designated as the sole
professional software by the seminar. Its comprehensive functions and
user-friendly features won extensive glorification and positive affirmation in
the seminar. TITAN T3D, which is developed by the company particularly for the
mining field, received warm welcome from China University of Mining And
Technology.
During the seminar, APOLLO Beijing Office and OTITAN launched its new publication Fundamental
Theory And Practice for Remote Sensing and GIS Systems attracted much attention.
Representatives greatly appreciated the effort exerted by APOLLO Beijing Office and OTITAN in
supporting the construction of Chinese GIS and RS education. APOLLO Beijing Office and OTITAN also
was expected to continue strengthening close cooperation with the universities
and scientific research organizations, and to explore a new splendid TITAN space
in the area of GIS and RS.
