1.1?TITAN Objects for Spatial Access (TOSA ) Spatial Database Engine

By using the powerful function of relational database management system, TOSA Spatial Database Engine provides users design and planning of the spatial database which is based on database. And for space objects, it provides the function of story, inquiry, update, display, analysis, etc. TOSA components are a software development kit bag based on spatial database access and spatial data engine. TOSA can frequently embed into the various development language design environment, such as Visual Basic, Delphi Visual c + +, Visual studio.net etc. Now that the data are supported as follow: MySQL, Spatial Oracle: SQLServer DB2 Sybase, Kingbase, and JinCang NPC (etc).

TITAN SDE, by using the database technical as a support, based on the database such as Oracle Spatial, MySQL, SQLServer, Kingbase etc, can manage massive spatial data (vector, images, DEM etc.)? And supply management tools based on C/S and B/S structure.

1.4 Application Area

TITAN SDE massive spatial engine and data management system have been widely used in many fields now, especially in the military and forestry etc. In the military field, it is mainly used in image and vector data management and dynamic monitoring of the target. In the forestry field, it is mainly used in the office and urban green land management.

2.?System Structure.

TITAN SDM can use varieties of database management, in addition, it can use different management program for different database.

As for Oracle database, it divides for two management programs:?
One is a management program integrated of TOSA v2.0, it adopt Oracle Spatial, through OCI, OO4O to connect to be visited. The other one is accomplished in TOSA v3.0, it uses the TITAN SDB program which is the same as the program used by SQL Server and KingBase, and it is visited by ODBC.

Upon these management programs, TITAN have developed TITAN Objects for Spatial Data Access Engine (TODA), and SDM for .net for managing massive spatial data on that bases. Furthermore, the users can use TITAN SDE to make the secondary development and their custom software.

Finally, TITAN SDE will support J2EE framework either. In this framework, we could visit database by JDBC.
